Liberals to introduce childish twat motion

I just finished putting my five- and seven-year olds to bed and fire up the laptop to read:
Liberals to introduce ‘told you so’ motion slamming NDP, Bloc. Yep, the Liberal Party of Canada, the party of Trudeau, Laurier, and Pearson is brought to whining in the House that they weren’t given warm milk at bedtime sufficiently supported by the NDP and Bloc in 2005, and the result is a big, bad Tory wolf that they don’t have the balls power to control or contain. Gee, if only the other parties would agree sometime to bring them down – oh, wait, they have, like a hundred times in the last two years!

Perhaps if Stephan(i)e Dion dropped a pair, and gave the Canadian public reason one to trust him, he might find a receptive electorate. Otherwise, if he continues to hide behind his mother’s skirt waiting for the right time to peek act, he will get to watch as the Tory minority becomes a majority right before his eyes, and his leadership (snicker) of the Liberal Party becomes one of those things that will cause future Liberals to cough and uncomfortably fuck with their ties anytime it comes up in conversation.

  1. Ok ok Ok Ok. I just love title of this post. I am not even going to comment on the substance. Cheers mate, best spew my beer headline in a while. Somehow it manages English understatement. Brilliant.

I also liked the line “how about unfucking radio 1” in your previous post. My job does not permit me such candor. So for another 5 years I will have to live vicariously through you.

  2. You know, the more I see of Dion’s craven dodging of confidence votes, and now whinging, the more I become convinced that I’d rather vote Bloc, than liberal, despite unequivocably hating the idea of splitting the Great White North. At least Gilles has a pair…. somewhere under that chesse-worker’s hairnet…

  3. Thanks, Travis! It’s always nice to raise a giggle.

Sadly, it’s all-too-easy these days in North American politics. “NAFTAgate”, seriously? That’s the best we can do?

  4. I also love how the Liberals have tagged this childish whine on the bottom of a motion condemning what the Conservatives have done to erode women’s rights. “We care so much about women’s rights that we’re going to applaud them in a motion that no party except our own can vote for!”

Morons. They could’ve approached the NDP and the Bloc about reestablishing funding for the Court Challenges Program if they actually cared about the program. Obviously, the Libs under Dion give about as many shits (two, precisely) as the Cons where women’s rights are concerned.

  5. Briguy – do you think they expect to use this to trumpet their “strong” stand on women’s issues later on? It won’t work, of course, but that’s simply because Dion touched it, but do you think that’s part of the intent?

  6. Maybe. I notice, however, that yesterday’s NDP-sponsored confidence vote condemning the current government for their stance on the Kyoto protocol attracted a grand total of 11 Liberal Members. Methinks the NDP are planning to hoist Dion on his own petard, as he was the former Environment Minister under Chretien/Martin.

Of course, his views on climate change are probably quite similar to Harper’s, given his complete inaction as Environment Minister. How the heck did he get Green cred, anyway?

  7. I seriously am starting to believe that Dion spends so much time caving, he must think he’s Batman by now. Only considerably less effective at accomplishing anything. Remembering, of course, that Batman is a fictional character. Of course, so is Dion.
